Ontem estava numa de musica irlandesa, hoje fiquem com som do Pais de Gales. Ja falei aqui dos Manic Street Preachers anteriormente. Sao uma das poucas bandas do rock que e feito hoje que realmente me agrada. O Send Away the Tigers e o ultimo lancamento desta banda e continua na senda de rock inteligente que os Manics nos habituaram. Welsh'n'roll!!

Yesterday I felt like Irish music, today here's some Welsh tunes. I've mentioned the Manic Street Preachers before. They are one of the very few modern bands that I truly enjoy. Send Away the Tigers is their newest record and continues the path of intelligent rock that the Manics have gotten us used to. Welsh'n'roll!!

Hoje estou numa de musica irlandesa. Os Pogues sao uma banda formada em 1982 que mistura o som tradicional irlandes com o punk. Tem um som muito caracteristico e letras muito bem conseguidas escritas por Shane McGowan, figura central dos Pogues. Fiquem com este Best of bem representativo da carreira desta banda. Shane'n'roll!!

Today I'm in the mood for some Irish music. The Pogues are a band formed in 1982 that mixes traditional Irish tunes with Punk. They have a very specific sound and extremely good lyrics written by Shane McGowan, the central figure of The Pogues. This Best Of is quite representative of this band's carreer. Shane'n'roll!!

Os Mad Season sao uma daquelas experiencias musicais que nao tinham como dar errado. Membros de diferentes bandas grunge juntam-se em 1994 para formar os Mad Season, e rebentar com tudo. Em 1995 lancam Above, o seu unico album que deixo aqui para matar saudades desta epoca. Grunge'n'roll!!

Mad Season are one of those musical experiences that could never go wrong. Members of several grunge bands join efforts in 1994 and start Mad Season, and blow everybody away. In 1995 they release their only album that I leave here to remember those awesome times. Grunge'n' roll!!

Demorei para ouvir o novo album dos Smashing Pumpkins. Ainda bem que finalmente o fiz, porque vale a pena. O album e bem pesado e apesar de nao trazer grande inovacao sabe bem ouvir Billy Corgan de novo em forma. Smash'n'roll!!

It took me a while to listen to the Smashing Pumpkins new album. I'm glad I did, because it's worth it. It's quite a heavy sounding album, and despite not bringing much innovation, it feels good to hear Bill Corgan back to his old form. Smash'n'roll!!

AC/DC - HIGHWAY TO HELL

Que melhor album para o meu retorno do que esta obra prima do rock australiano? Os AC/DC sao uma das minhas bandas favoritas com o seu rock bem pesadao e com uma energia infindavel!! O Back in Black foi o primeiro album lancado depois da morte do inesquecivel Bon Scott e lancou a era Brian Johnson nos vocais. E uma obra prima do rock, que recomendo a todos. Rock On!!

What better album for my return than this master piece of Aussie rock? AC/DC are one of my favorite bands, with their heavy rock and endless energy!! Back in Black is the first album after the untimely death of Bon Scott and the first one of the Brian Johnson era on vocals. It's a rock'n'roll master piece that I recommend to everyone. Rock on!!

THE BOY IS BACK IN TOWN!!

Depois de uma longa ausencia o Whisky com Gelo volta com algumas mudancas. Para comecar agora as postagens estarao em duas linguas, Portugues e Ingles. Nao que eu seja de escrever muito, mas penso que o blog ficara mais acessivel a um maior numero de pessoas deste modo. Aos poucos verao outras mudancas. Se quiserem comentar a medida que vao acontecendo, sintam-se em casa. Por enquanto, seguiremos com a programacao habitual!! Rock'n'roll!!

After a long absence, Whisky com Gelo, is returning with a few changes. I will start by posting in two languages, portuguese and english. Not that I am much of a writer, but I think this blog will be more acessible to a lot more people this way. With time other changes will happen. feel free to comment as they happen.
